Quite often while walking through the doors of this building I see a gentlemen sitting in the lounge, dressed in a full suite, with a red tie and a red handkerchief. He is about 75 years old and he is always passionately looking out of the window, watching people walk by, waiting for something. A while ago I got curios to know who is this man. He reminded me of the old general, played by Al Pacino in the Scent of a Woman, and I thought I should rather find out now, while there is still time.

Diego is an Italian immigrant to Canada who lives in the same building with me. He is roughly 75 and is not very mobile due to a problem with his leg. For a few month every year he goes back to Rome where he has a house, and he would love to live there to the end of his days, if not for his wife who grew up in Toronto and would not want to permanently leave the city.

There is no point to the story but one, I am glad that I now know of my my neighbors,  and it would not hurt any of us to find more about the people around us, there just might be something unique about them all.
