What a marvelous opening ceremony! It was simple and slick, and yet colorful and touching. Although sometimes I had no idea why certain things were there, they were and it was beautiful. The projection of motion onto the surfaces is especially fascinating when combined with singing and dancing. I watched the ceremony at a cinema on Bloor and Bathurst and had a great time!

In a way Olympics is a way for a country to attract people to work and to live in the country and I think for me this was a great sales pitch. It is hard to explain what draws me so much to the maple leaf, but something certainly does. Maybe it is the “hello and thank you”, maybe it is the warmth and friendliness of the people, whatever it is, it is touching.
