About a year ago a friend told me that her mom often cooked different dishes – meat for the meat-loving men and something more exquisite for the ladies. Back then I thought “wow, your brother should not be so demanding of your mom to accommodate his habits”, thinking that cooking all that food was time consuming and the mom did not need to. After all, family is family and should it together. Not sure why I just remembered it, but I kind of realized that since the mom cooked well, she probably did not mind so much, and in fact that was her way of showing just how much she loved the family.
