Toronto noise bylaw comes in handy

May 14th, 2010

For anyone whose neighbors like to party … on Thursdays, keep a copy of Chapter 591 Article 4 of Toronto noise bylaw ( Prohibitions by time and place )! Basically, when people in your building/street start blasting music really late and ignore your request for some quiet time, the bylaw states that between 11:00pm and 7:00am they are required to oblige. If  they don’t? That’s easy – call the security, it works like a charm.

On most days I don’t think I’d even care, but getting a little bit sick, the noise of the base amplifies 10 times in my head. Not cool.

p.s. No, I did not just get up to research this topic. I had the document on my computer since a few years ago when a frat house across the street kept having parties in the middle of the week. The residence called the cops on them all the time, so I got curios what allowed cops to ends those crazy parties.
